Time is one of the most precious gifts we have. How we spend our time is one of the most important indications of what is important in our lives. Your time is your gift to share. How will you share your time for the common good?
The following is just a partial list of some of the organizations and ministries affiliated with the Center of Jesus the Lord. Here, you will find some details about the organization, leaders and phone numbers.
The Our Father's Table -ministry to the homeless and hungry prepares and brings hot meals to OZanam Inn, a homeless shelter. People are needed to cook, transport, and serve the food. all Dottie DiBella at 430-1015 or Mike Emig 416-6748
The Garden Club is responsible for planning, planting, and maintaining the gardens in the Center's many courtyards. Even if you just want to weed or water, this ministry greatly needs your help. Call Helen Owens at 529-1636.
The Music Ministry sings every Sunday at Mass and for special events and liturgies. The Music Ministry is always in need of new members, especially men. Call the Center at 529-1636.
The Telephone Receptionist Team spend the day at the Center in the reception area answering the phone and front door. The Center is looking for alternate receptionists as well as scheduled ones, call 529-1636.
Ushers arrive before Sunday Mass to turn on lights, air conditioner and to make sure that all Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are present. Duties continue during and after Mass. Call the Center at 529-1636 if you are interested.
Sunday Fellowship is responsible for preparing for coffee and cake in the dining hall after Sunday Mass. Helpers are needed before Mass to cut cakes and after Mass to help serve and clean up. Call Dottie DiBella at 504-430-1015 to volunteer.
Pro-Life Ministry meets at 8:00 am on the 1st Saturday of the month at at the Causeway Medical Clinic to pray a rosary and divine mercy chaplet for the intention of ending abortion and for the continued healing of all those who have been hurt by past abortions. The Hope Line members pray intercessory pray for all people who call the 529-HOPE number. Each day a new list of prayer requests are passed down via telephone or e-mail to Hope Line members so that they may pray for them.. This is a daily commitment. Tuesday Lunch members provide a hot meal and fellowship after the Tuesday Prayer Meeting and Mass. To help cook, clean or financial aid call the Center at 529-1636. Contact Karen Perritt.
The Church Cleaning Ministry is responsible for the cleaning of the Church and sacristy furniture and floors each week to assure cleanliness at Mass. Contact Tanya Wright.
Sunday Monthly Fellowship Luncheon is every third Sunday of each month. Lunch is prepared and served to community members. This is a fundraising event. Contact Laura Biachini.
The Decorating Committee is responsible for decorating the sanctuary as the liturgical seasons change. It also decorates for special events. Call the Center at 529-1636. Contact Laura Biachini.
The Welcoming /Greeter Committee greet worshipers entering the Church. They also hand out newcomer packets and follow up by contacting by phone.. Contact Shelby Delhomme at 352-2533 if you are interested.
Stewards of Mercy reaches out to community members in crisis because of illness or death in the family. Contact Deborah Montambo.
Covenant Community members make a commitment of prayer, support, and service to the Community. Contact Penny Martin.
\Children's Ministry during Sunday Mass readings and homily children ages 4 to 10 are dismissed and taught our Catholic faith at age appropriate levels. Contact Sheila Fonseca.
